In the third season of Rent-A-Goalie, Cake has to come to terms with the fact that his recently discovered eighteen-year-old daughter, Dallas is now living with him. With Cake adjusting to Dallas and the Oilers deal still hanging in the air, Cake needs to get his affairs in order and figure out how to stop the team from moving to Lubbock, Texas.

The craziness around Café Primo continues with visitors from Cake’s past trying to steal his code for their own personal gain and a visitor from Johnny’s past who claims ownership over the café. Cake also deals with the return of first season adversary Puck Benny, discovering that O’Malley’s new girlfriend Eva has a surprise appendage, and making half of the city sick to their stomachs with some tainted cheese. He struggles with threats from a mysterious hockey organization known only as “Upstairs” and with the consequences of sleeping with Malta , which ultimately results in hockey legend Bob Probert breaking his jaw.

Through it all, Cake supplies goalies to local hockey teams that find themselves with an empty net, all the while trying to live and run his business by THE CODE – an ever-evolving set of credos, personal ethics, and spiritual maxims that keep him on the straight and narrow – most of the time. Cake continues to covertly woo the beautiful and feisty Francesca daughter of Café Primo owner Johnny Casale, with varying degrees of success leading to their possible elopement.

Season 3 features guest star appearances by hockey legends Paul Coffey, Bob Probert, Phil Esposito, Hayley Wickenheiser, Mike Palmateer and Darryl Sittler as well as Shawn Doyle, George Stroumboulopoulos of CBC’s The Hour and the return of Gemini award-winning actor Sonja Smits. Also guest starring this year is Fabrizio Filippo who will appear as his character from Billable Hours, in a Billable Hours - Rent-A-Goalie cross over!
