ADAM BEACH as George Keeshig

Thirty-one year old George Keeshig earned the nickname ‘Superboysh’ from people in Moose when, as a young boy, he tried to fly by jumping off the garage roof clad in a makeshift cape and pair of short underpants hiked up over a pair of long johns. Not much has changed (except his underpants!)

George’s mother died when he was only 11 and he was brought up with TV as his babysitter. Many of his unrealistic ideas about life and values come from watching TV. A charming dreamer, George is an optimistic opportunist always on the lookout for a shortcut to success. Even though his ambitions can get the better of him, he’s essentially a good guy. George’s charisma means that he can talk almost anyone into following him as he pursues his latest obsession. He’s spent the last ten years in Toronto involved in various low-level illicit activities that he doesn’t take very seriously, until he witnesses his boss murder a rival drug dealer. He returns to Moose, which he has romanticised during his decade long absence.

He and his father, Mayor Gerry Keeshig, have a longstanding feud and intense competition that is centred over their shared attraction to a woman (who ditched them both). With his quick eye for a scam, generous charm, grandiose personal ambitions and eye for the ladies, George is more like his father than he’d like to admit - even to himself.
