This week we have a first look at Will Ferrell in the Spanish comedy Casa de Mi Padre and the high school teacher drama Detachment.
Based upon his film and TV roles, I would say that it's safe to say that Will Ferrell is quite funny in English. But a bigger question remains - is Will Ferrell funny in Spanish? Judging by the trailer for his film Casa de Mi Padre, the answer is most likely si. Nobody quite knows why Ferrell decided to star in a Spanish-language comedy (apparently he kinda just wanted to do it), but it looks like it might have been a good idea. Check out the trailer below:
A look at the lives of high school teachers through the eyes
of a sub, Detachment stars Adrien Brody (who was great in The Pianist), Bryan
Cranston (who's great in Breaking Bad), Christina Hendricks (who's great in Mad
Men), and Lucy Liu (I'm sure she's been great in something). The film was one
of the darlings of the 2011 festival circuit, and set for a wide release this
February. Check it out:
It was a slow week for trailers, but it'll be anything but slow on Showtime this weekend with all the movies we're showing. Check back tomorrow for a full run-down.
