Lost Girl: Season 2, Episode 10 – ‘Raging Fae’

Monday, November 28, 2011 11:42 AM

In this week's episode, Bo not only joins the brutal world of underground fighting to help a human mixed up with the wrong Fae crowd, but also has to face a major secret from her past that could devastate her future.

The episode begins with Lauren bringing Bo to an ogre named Oscar, who was beaten to within inches of his life at an underground MMA fight.  The problem?  He was beaten up by a lowly human, which means that there are two possibilities: either the human was Ivan Drago from Rocky IV, or something really strange is going on.

Bo learns that the unsanctioned Fae-human fights are organized by gym owner Salvatore Ferraro, a Light Fae and "pillar of the community" who is nevertheless one the sleaziest characters the show has seen so far. Not only is Ferraro organizing the fights, he's also streaming them live on the internet, which threatens to expose the Fae to the world.

Bo joins Ferraro's gym to find the human fighter, and eventually realizes that he's been gaining his strength by using powerful Fae steroids which send him on violent blackout rages. But who's supplying the steroids, and why?

Determining that is just one of the problems Bo has to face in this episode, with another one having far greater implications for her. While Bo is off fighting, a woman named Mel confronts Kenzi, claiming Bo (or "Beth" as she knows her) killed her brother back in high school (her accusations are correct, by the way, as she's the sister of Bo's first victim).

Bo admits the truth to her friends, but knowing that what really happened can never be revealed, Mel is sent to Hale, who she thinks is an everyday cop.  Can Hale lead her off the trail, or will Bo be forced to start running again? If you missed last night's episode, you can find out now by watching the episode HERE.

What did you think of last night's episode? Will Bo's past ever catch to her, and what should she do if and when it does?

Now we're talking! This episode had it all: backstory, balance (especially regarding the triangle), continuity, character development; it served a purpose. This week's writer can actually write Lauren, which is a huge relief after last week's episode.

Anna Silk's acting is really improving. I believe this episode was her best work so far - along with "Vexed" last season. Her scene with Zoie Palmer really touched me and I can't get enough of my Doccubus. Those two have such an incredible chemistry together, awards should be handed out to them.

Not enough Hotpants, but everything else about the episode was enjoyable, including BD. What a relief after last week's School of Lack of Continuity.

The Bo/Lauren scene last night way beyond beautiful. And it's so nice to see Dyson and Lauren being like bros together and not fighting and competing over Bo. There wasn't even any weird LBD thing going on in the scene they shared, which was the best part.

I love Lauren, so I'd always love to see a lot of her in an episode, but this episode was well-written, balanced, and in-character. Unlike last episode. Kudos to Jeremy Boxen.

OH. MY. GOD!

Anna silk killed it! SHE JUST TOTALLY KILLED IT! The struggle and inner battle between the FaeXHuman sides inside of her...she showed that perfectly. Just amazing! And Oh my babies oh my Doccubus! I know Lauren was in the episode for like..what? Total 10 minutes? But

DID YOU SEE THEIR CHEMISTRY????? Oh god oh god! That comfort scene, when Lauren was taking care of her, that scene just reduced me to incoherent sobbing, just so you know.

Better consistency this week. Great episode and great acting!!! Kudos to everyone.

Though, if this was season 1, there would be a succubus healing-sex scene instead of shots of a car moving in the opening. :/ I guess once you go American, you don't go back! But hey! Good ep, not so much of a guilty pleasure anymore, but still a pleasure.

Kenzi and Bo's scene is touching, by the way. I'd kill for a friend like Kenzi. And Yes, more Lauren, if you please

Wow, such an improvement over the last episode. Good character writing. All the interactions between characters vere good (Bo/Kenzi,Bo/Luren,Bo/Dyson), and nothing felt off :)

Bo finally was pretty badass and doing some sucubbusing.  haha

It was great to take a peak at Bo's past, and how it's affecting her in the present. They also moved the main plot of the season along.

Ohh on a shallow note, Anna Silk looked just amazing 0_0

I just want to start off by saying, I'm  loving the fact that we haven't been waiting a long time for a new entry. I love commenting on these things and reading everyone elses comments.

Secondly, I thought that last night's episode was pretty good. However, i didn't find it to be as great as some of the previous episodes.

I especially liked the partnership between Bo and Dyson. I'm so glad they are still freinds. I hope it continues, they make a really great team.

Lastly, what's up with The Ash!!! First with a head (that looks exactly like him) in a box, and now his weird/mysterious fae powers. Most likely he killed the guy with the unerground fights, but did u see those teeth, if thats even what they were. And why is he being so mean all of a sudden? He keeps getting weirder and weirder (atleast to me he does). I want to find out more about him! I also want to know more about Ciara, besides the fact that she's a fairy and Dysons new love interest, we hardly know anything about her. On second thought, i want to learn more about all the characters on this show.

Wow! Last night kicked it! Anna Silk was amazing and the scenes between Bo and Lauren and Bo and Kenzi were awesome! Such a great cast. Love how there was continuity in the characterization and story lines. Nice to see our Succubus back too! Powerful performance from Zoie Palmer as well. Keep it up writers and cast. This is great writing and acting!

Wow just wow this episode was so on point. It had it all continuity, character development, action, drama, and of course Lauren. Kudos to the writer.

Even though there was not much of Lauren, that comfort scene she had with Bo made up for it. I mean Lauren told Bo she "absolutely loves" her!, sure she took it back but we all know she meant it and it's cannon.

I even liked Dyson in this episode. I love that there is no more awkwardness between Bo and Dyson and they can work together to solve a case.

And the Ash, I so think he is the big bad of this season. He is just too sadistic  to be a permanent character. He is an ash-hole and needs to go.

Oh also loved that Kenzi went to Hale when she needed help. Please let these two happen. I mean Kenzi needs some lovin too.

All characters seemed to be intact this week, all very teamy and helping Bo although she didn't always appreciate it.  Bo looks ten years younger dressed in a tank and jacket rather than all those black layers.  Anna Silk was excellent, really took me back to the first episdoe and Vex.  Nice continuity with Kenzi and Lauren being Bo's confidantes, they're the ones who have supported her with her Succubus issues other than the sex.  Dyson continues to impress me outside of the Bo and Ciara  sexual relationships because I think the immediacy of both did his character a disservice. He's much more attractive when he's being protective and a friend and flirts.  Trick was a little more firm with Bo this episode, she hasn't accepted she's Fae and she can't go blurting out the truth just to make her atonement, that could get people killed.  Bo/Lauren well that's a box of frogs isn't it?  Where has cool, controlled, focussed Dr Lewis gone.  To make the Nadia bomb work, we're presented with Dr Tourettes who can't stop from blurting out whatever comes into her head about Bo just so we know she hasn't been stringing Bo along and is CONFLICTED.  Delightfully as ZP plays this, I wish the writers had come up with something more imaginative that could have melded with her former personality a little bit better.  More to come I guess on that front.  Last comment, Lochlyn, wow, Mr Creepy, head in a box and pirannha teeth ... nasty.

Overall enjoyable episode, thanks.

I definitely enjoyed this episode more than the last one.

(1) Anna Silk's acting was great.

(2) Tender-awkward Doccubus moment = win.  Could always do with more Dr. Lauren though!  :)

(3) Bo + Dyson interaction = score.  Dyson + Lauren starting to become friends?  Score.  Kenzi as Bo's BFF = score.

Story had more continuity and writing was better.

Thanks for the show and the opportunity to comment!

Yes!  This is more like it.  No whiny school girl Bo.  It's back to kicka$$ Bo!!  Now, THAT'S the superhero I root for.  Anna Silk totally rocked this ep.

Also... loved the backstory.  It's great to see how the characters have come to be who they are (if that makes sense).  I'm also loving Lauren's storyline... so beautifully conflicted.

Such an awesome episode! I loved that it was well balanced between everyone.

Ann Silk deserves all the awards for her acting this episode. It's never been better. Loved the Bo's past storyline.

Dyson/Bo friendship was awesome, was so tired off all the whining and jealousy. Plus, Dyson was looking extremely good :)

That Bo and Lauren seen was so beautiful! They are so perfect for each other it makes my heart hurt.

This was a good episode for the reasons already mentioned. I particularly liked that Bo tells Trick about the prophecy. I always hate it if characters keep things secret which they obviously should tell someone like it sometimes happened in Buffy and Angle just so that the writers have a plot device.

Also some of the jokes like when Bo says it hurts were quite Bufffyesque.

Well done Lost Girl team! Acting from all was lovely (Anna Silk! Zoie Palmer, Ksenia Solo and KC Collins rocked it.), writing nice and tight with advances all around, fun fight scenes and some implied sex.

This was my kind of entertainment! Maybe throw in a little more skin, pretty please?

Thanks,

HUGE FAN

And the scene of Bo and Lauren was sweet and so much feelings, they have a great chemestry, that scene makes look like a great couple. The way Lauren told Bo that she loves her is so beautiful. I'm straight but i really love Bo/ Lauren couple, the love that exists between them, you can feel.

Really enjoyed this episode, everybody seemed to be back to the characters that we love, personality/behavior wise that is. Ksenia, Anna and Zoie's emoting is also incredible and makes pandas very sad.

I loved how all the characters seem to be very much a team, loved that Kenzi and Lauren were supporting Bo through the emotional side of her troubles. And everyone will still close around her to help protect her even though (for good reason) Bo seems to freak out when that happens.

Also loved the tie-back to the first season with Bo still struggling with her Fae nature and her still thinking that she's monster and having a difficult time embracing that part of herself.

While I loved the accidental declaration of love by Lauren and her inability to control herself around Bo I'm hoping it's leading to it showing that she's fraying around the edges with all the happenings going on and her driving herself towards finding answers and freedom - cause it is quite the difference from our normally calm, reserved Doc.

Would love to learn more about Trick and his history and what the heck is up with Lachlan and his cannibal teeth.

gonna agree - awesome epi, great balance and depth to the story, great acting with the emo scenes and much more true and fair to the characters - nice recovery LG.

I heart Kenzi standing by her Bo no matter what - tough to be barked at without barking back and instead go for the deeper issues - that was a great scene between the two.  In reading the comments, I think it is amazing how the Bo/Lauren relationship is resonating with fans and hey, love it also- but drama makes for good tv, so wherever this goes, and then comes back and goes again, I'm sticking with because the show is a blast.

Hope it doesn't surprise you that your fans keep up with every, single detail and let you know it - it means you have a great thing going - you are filling a TV "void" that has been missing for a while.

Speaking of, can Jan get here so i can actually see the first season?? :) - peace

Very good episode. It's nice to see that Lauren is back to her usual self again.Anna Silk and Zoie Palmer's acting was awesome! They have great chemistry. I really really hope their relationship will work out!

It was nice to learn a bit more about Bo's past.

But I still wish Lauren had more screentime.

I realized that I like all the main characters on the show even the Ash. And if Dyson won't be a love interest for Bo anymore I will like him even more.

Fantastic emotional connection and well acted! The final fight scene was 'lacking' for me..........not enough testosterone for my personal liking making it flaky and hard to get into......other than that well done, loved the story here and looking forward now!!
