Meet the Fae Five! Lost Girl "Dawn of a New Fae" Winners Announced

Monday, October 31, 2011 11:10 AM

Thanks to everyone who took the time to enter our first Lost Girl fan contest, "Dawn of a New Fae"! To refresh your memory, here is what we asked of our intrepid (and talented) viewers:

Is there a Banshee in your brain just begging to be let out? Do you have the next Lightning Bird cooped up in your head and ready to take flight? Can you think of a feisty Fae creature that you think should fight Bo? If so, we want to know about it. Enter the Lost Girl "Dawn of a New Fae" contest today -- the winning idea may be incorporated into an episode of the show! Four runners-up will win a grab bag full of autographed Lost Girl and Showcase memorabilia.

Time will tell if any of our viewers' creations will make it into an episode of Lost Girl -- we'll keep you posted. But suffice to say, we were blown away by the quality and creativity behind these entries, and it was truly tough to pick only five winners. As such, a big congrats is in order for our Top 5:

Holly Ellingwood - "The Winter Hag"
Kearsten Chau - "Firefawn" (pictured)
Teara Otterbein - "Bubak"
Garth Holden - "Jack"
Patricia Robinson - "The Shalbino"

Check out our winners' work at the Lost Girl show site now. And don't forget to enter our latest contest, where Lost Girl fans can try their hand at creating a new Twitter background for @lostgirlseries. Enter today at showcase.ca/lostgirl!

I was hoping we would be able to read about each new Fae, The contest was about the ability not just the picture. I also was hoping the fans could vote on which was their fav. new fae. The end after a long wait was disappointing!

I hope these aren't just reboots of heroes or xmen characters.

In every chapter there's a new Fae with their interesting 'gifts' and the story rather its in history,or themsheveles.  Would say that an Elf is a Fae too?  Just like that other story about mother and daugther whom are mermaids.

Too bad the Huldra didnt make it. I would have liked to see a Scandinavian based "Fae".
