The 26th Annual Gemini Awards: Meet Your Showcase Nominees

The nominees for the 26th Annual Gemini Awards were announced this week, and we are proud to see that a number of Showcase-related projects and series will be represented at this year's event.

Lost Girl earned five nominations, including Best Cross-Platform Project (for showcase.ca/lostgirl), Best Photography in a Dramatic Program or Series, Best Writing in a Dramatic Series (for "Blood Lines"), Best Achievement in Casting, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series (for Ksenia Solo).

Endgame also pulled in five nominations, including Best Cross-Platform Project (for showcase.ca/endgame), Best Dramatic Series, Best Achievement in Main Title Design, Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series (for Katharine Isabelle) and Best Performance by an Actor in a Guest Role, Dramatic Series (for "I Killed Her").

Haven's John Dunsworth is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series ("Spiral", "Ball and Chain").

Both Jack of Diamonds and Reviving Ophelia are up for Best Writing in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series. Reviving Ophelia's Rebecca Williams is also up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series.

Congratulations to all of our nominees. The live broadcast of this year's Geminis takes place on September 7th, 2011.

Endgame gets five nominations, including Best Dramatic Series and Showcase pulls the plug after one season...  a travesty.

The least Showcase could do for fans of this original series is to spring for an additional two hour movie to resolve the ongoing mystery and close the series properly.
