S06E07: “Pinwheels and Whirligigs”
We can all rest easy -- Nancy did call an ambulance for Cesar as the episode starts off with an FBI interview in the hospital, to which Cesar contributes next to nothing. The Botwins/Newmans and Doug are back on the road in the town car heading to Montana, as our off-the-grid guru Andy shares some more nuggets of wisdom and invokes Bill Maher:
“New rules. Number one: Keep moving. We need to widen the gap between us and our aggressors. That means at least another 24 hours on the road, no stopping, no exceptions except gas and potty. Hardcore. Rule number two, this one is key: No social interactions. We go way underground seal ourselves off. I’m talking Bin Laden, the Unabomber.”
The crew stops at another Kountry Buffet, Nancy freshens up, and the group decides to disregard Andy’s sage advice and stop off at a fair to ride a roller coaster and just have fun. Nancy wants to spend some quality time with Shane and make sure he’s not turning into a psycho – although I think that ship has already sailed…
She does manage to find time to urge Andy into entering a butter-sculpting contest in order to win a new motor home. He and Silas put in the elbow grease, and while Silas actually pulls out a win, he can’t claim his prize since his alter-ego is without a social insurance number.
The day at the state fair ends and the family climb back into the crowded town car and hit the road again, only to be passed by the luxury motor home they so desperately wanted.
S06E08: “Gentle Puppies”
This week, we begin with another FBI interview, with yet another person from Nancy’s past – her lawyer, Dean. It begs the question: Who is reviewing these tapes? Is it the FBI or Estaban? Is anyone else wondering where Estaban is? After losing the luxury motor home due to tax reasons the Botwin/Newmans trade up from the town car and buy the “God is Awesome Love” God-mobile. With the sale complete, the crew is off in a motor home full of gay porn and adult toys only to be pulled over for speeding. But with Nancy, Shane and the drugs in the car behind them the God-mobile is let off with a warning as Pastor Randy spreads the good Lord’s gospel and receives forgiveness for his speedy ways.
Meanwhile, Nancy finds a bar and helps herself since the service is lacking which is odd considering she’s the only customer. Nancy finally gets her itch scratched by the bartender (Mark Paul Gosselaar). Zach Morris has a rough and tumble sex scene with Nancy that would make Mr. Belding blush. She even gets rid of the town car!
The morning comes and the Newmans are literately run out of Pioneer City by the locals. The truth comes out: they are not men of God spreading the good word and Nancy is a jezebel -- or as the bar tenders wife likes to put it, a whore.
