This week's episode of Californication got me thinking:
1) Do nice guys finish last when it comes to love and marriage?
In this episode we see Karen almost getting into a fight with a jerk at a fundraiser event who calls her a "C-U-Next-Tuesday" when he bumps into her.
Karen's wild ways come out as she tries to fight the dude, but her level-headed thinking finacé Bill tries to stop her from making a scene. More than anything, she seems annoyed with Bill for pulling her back.
Later, Karen sees the aforementioned name-calling d-bag as she's leaving the event and explains to Hank what happened. What does Hank do? He punches the guy in the face. Hot.
So my question is, would you rather just have sex with the hot, badass guy and marry the nice, sophisticated, stable guy? Or would you marry the loose cannon and let the cookie crumble as it may?
Better still, is it possible to get a Hank and a Bill in one well-endowed package?
2) Is sex the root of all evil?
Becca states in a heart-to-heart bonding session with her soon-to-be step-sister, Mia, that she aspires to be a 40-year-old virgin. "Once you get laid," she says, "your life basically turns to shit."
Myself, and many others I'm sure, would argue to the contrary. But maybe there's some credence to that drastic claim. What do you think?
As for this week's Hank's Ranks, he's slacking, so the tally holds at 5 and two halves.
