Top 5: Superhot Superheroes

Wednesday, January 20, 2010 12:45 PM

Waaaaaay before vampires became (supposedly) sexy, there were good-hearted supernatural pin-ups known as superheroes. Rather than use their special powers to dominate humans (in the bad way), the Marvel and DC crew saved us from the bad guys and then disappeared mysteriously into the night. In honour of Tobey Maguire's ripped bod in Spider-Man -- parts 2 and 3 come to Showcase on Saturday, January 23 at 10pm and 1am ET/PT respectively -- here's a list of Hollywood superheroes that get us swooning. As we all know, there's nothing like a babe in uniform -- especially if that uniform includes tights.

5. Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman
She was an Amazon with bullet-deflecting bracelets, but who could take their eyes off that rack?

4. Christian Bale as Batman
Christian Bale is more than a little weird, but he's by far the hottest actor to tackle the Bruce Wayne role. Those martial arts scenes in the Chinese ice caves? Killer.

3. Halle Berry as Storm/Catwoman

Edgy black S&M vinyl really works for Ms. Berry, dontcha think? Overall, X-Men was a far superior comic book flick, but those shredded outfits in Catwoman almost made it worth watching the movie in its entirety. (Okay, that's a lie.)

2. Christopher Reeve as Superman

With his chiselled jaw and steel-blue eyes, Reeve was, without a doubt, the iconic all-American superhero. He was almost too good to fall in lust with, but then in Superman III he briefly became a bad guy and that was kinda hot.

1. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

The first X-Men movie was this Aussie actor's ticket to fame, and no wonder: the original werewolf-cum-babe, Jackman as Wolverine was the perfect combination of human compassion and hairy animal magnetism.
