Showcase Originals: Disproportionately Good

Monday, December 21, 2009 11:56 AM

We're going light on the "Best of the Aughts" coverage here at Showcase because our round-up is scheduled for December 2012 just before the world ends, but Maclean's has gone to the trouble of honouring the Top 10 TV shows of the decade and we like their taste because they chose no less than three Showcase Original series: Trailer Park Boys, Slings & Arrows, and Kenny vs. Spenny.

And, as is so often the case with Top 10 lists, the outraged comments are as good a read as the article itself:

WTF? Corner Gas should be number 1 hands down!

Check it out here. Congratulations to our winning shows -- here's to another decade of great Canadian TV.

Wasn't Kenny VS Spenny originally on CBC?

and then Game Show Network and then finally Show Case?

I've never understood why you guys call it original

Evan: Kenny vs. Spenny debuted on CBC in Canada and GSN in the States. The series moved to Showcase for its second season.

As with all of our Original series, the Showcase content team is involved with the development and production of the program.

Trailer Park Boys should have been number 1 on that list, but I guess that's just the way she goes.
