Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice have loved and hated each since long before the
portmanteau "frenemy" was coined, but few words better sum up the relationship between these Canadian roommates. For six seasons of
Kenny vs. Spenny, the pair have battled over silly bets, with the latest rolling out this

They taunt, tease and torment each other—eventually humiliating the loser—yet they always return for more. Because they’re friends. Mean, mean, friends. But they’re not the first frenemies on TV, just the realest ones. So let’s take a look-see at TV’s five best fictional BFFs.
Brenda vs. Kelly - Beverly Hills, 90210Sure, Naomi and Annie, like, totally send hate-texts to each other in the
90210 2.0 edition, but those stick figures don't even compare to that pathetic Old-Brenda and Old-Kelly spat last season, much less these bitch icons at their '90s power heights who went from sleepover pillow-fights to
Dynasty-style throwdowns over that sideburned senior citizen Dylan.
Eric vs. Bill - True BloodAdmittedly, there's a level of subservience at play due to the vagaries of vampire politics -- Eric is Bill's "sheriff" -- but bland confederate vamp Bill Compton has had a hate-on for his Nordic boss for decades, even though the pair both once rampaged across the south. It's not unlike the relationship once shared by Angel and Spike on
Buffy the Vampire Slayer -- in fact, it's a total ripoff. Joss Whedon should, like, totally sue!
Nancy vs. Celia - WeedsWorking mom (by which I mean drug-dealing mom) Nancy Botwin and nosy neighbour Celia Hodes have never been particularly friendly considering they're supposed to be friends. But I guess that's why they're in this list. During the early seasons in that Agrestic subdivision, mean-spirited alcoholic Celia risked Nancy's life by tossing her weed stash in the swimming pool, then threatened to turn Nancy in if she didn't let her join her little operation and then, inevitably, informed after getting busted. On the other hand, Nancy is a drug dealer.
Cartman vs. Kyle - South ParkEveryone's favourite fat cardboard cutout is a right bastard to everyone of his supposed friends, but Eric Cartman's sharpest barbs have always been reserved for Kyle Broflovski. Mostly Cartman makes fun of Kyle for being Jewish, but will taunt him for pretty much anything, even composing the classic ditty: "
Kyle's Mom Is A Bitch". Kyle, for his part, mocks Cartman's weight and laughs when he gets AIDS.
B.A. Baracus vs. "Howlin' Mad" Murdock - The A-TeamTo be fair, B.A.'s name does stand for "Bad Attitude" and Mr. T's mohawked mercenary did argue with all of his A-Teammates, but Murdock got the brunt of his wrath, despite the fact that he was the only one who didn't regularly dose B.A. with sleeping pills every time they had to take a flight. But despite their squabbling over Murdock being a "crazy fool," these two were total besties. They even shared the same blood type so they could give each other transfusions after getting shot. Aww...
