Michelangelo's concept of art dictated that sculptures were pre-formed within blocks of marble, and that his task was to merely allow his divinely guided hand to uncover them by removing the excess material, thereby revealing the "idea" that lurked within the rough-hewn stone.

No doubt summoning influence from the great Italian artist, Toronto's CrystallizeIt.com bangs out masterpieces every single day, etching image after image into crystalline blocks shaped like keychains, tealight holders, and paperweights.

Last week, their skilled masons forged an item that would instantly become more powerful and influential than all of us put together. Indeed, they revealed the "idea" that had been obscured by so much crystal veneer, waiting patiently for the opportunity to be discovered:

They revealed Jon Gosselin.

And within moments of arriving at our office, where it now keeps permanent residence, The Gosselin Crystal started dishing out mellow vibes in the general direction of anyone who so much as met its glowing gaze. Eager to spread its message, it started tweeting almost immediately, which led us to the discovery that it contains the missing superego of the reality TV star whose image it bears.
