Showcase at the 2009 Emmys

Monday, September 21, 2009 10:21 AM

If you watched the Emmy Awards last night, then you already know that Showcase swept the SOUND MIXING FOR A COMEDY OR DRAMA SERIES category with two huge wins for Weeds (half-hour) and House (one hour). We've analyzed the footage, and we're pretty sure that the guy with the soul patch behind Kenny G was about to thank us. You be the judge:

Michael J. Fox also picked up a wingèd-lady-holding-a-giant-atom for his guest role as Dwight in Rescue Me. Much deserved – his episodes were among the best of an excellent season. And congratulations to Glenn Close who took home the top prize for her portrayal of Patty Hewes in Damages.

In less joyous news, a bummed-looking Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds) fell to the mighty Toni Collette (United States of Tara) for best comic actress. Christina Applegate was not available for comment.

And then Mad Men won everything else for some reason.
