Hey, porn fans! It's almost time for Good for Her's annual Feminist Porn Awards. This is the fourth year for Good for Her's slut-tastic event, and heads up, it always sells out. In case you forgot, "feminist porn" refers to female-directed films that show actual female pleasure. (Click here, here, or here for my reviews of such flicks, some of which are past award winners.) Pictured is Petra Joy, last year's winner for "Best Bi Scene".
This year, Good for Her is hosting a whole weekend of orgasmic fun. There's the awards ceremony itself, which is happening on
Friday, April 24 at Toronto's
Berkeley Church, where you can expect to watch clips of this year's nominees, enter to win tons of raffle prizes, and revel in some truly dirty dancing onstage and at the afterparty. On
Saturday, April 25, head to the newly renovated
Royal Cinema for a screening of this year's winners, followed by a Q&A session with your favourite directors emceed by
CoCo La Crème. Or, if you've always wanted to make your own little smut flick, spend Saturday afternoon at Good for Her, where director
Madison Young will lead a DIY session.
It's all for a very good cause, since the money raised from this will go to the
Sexual Health, Education and Pleasure Project, which offersyouth and marginalized communities access to pleasure-based (as opposed toabstinence-based) sex education. Pick up your passes at
Good for Her or
Northbound Leather, and remember to bring the party.
