*Yes, that means 'Spoilers Ahead'.
Pattycake, Pattycake, what have you done? As the debut season of Damages arrived at its electrifying conclusion earlier this year, the first threads of Patty Hewes’ (Glenn Close) inevitable unraveling were at last pulled, with her protégé lawyer Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne) agreeing to act as a covert informant in a federal investigation into her once-and-again boss’ misdeeds—like, you know, attempting to have her killed.
As Season Two looms—new episodes will appear on Showcase on Sundays at 10pm ET/PT beginning January 18—it would seem that this thrilling legal drama is really about a death match between these two fiercely intelligent women, with everything else serving as mere details, accessories after the fact.
Will Hewes get wise to young Miss Parsons’ cunning attempt to take her down from within the firm, or is she — characteristically — wise to her already?
Will any lawyers appear as sympathetic characters, or are they all gonna be pretty much straight-up evil again?
Is Arthur Frobisher dead? Probably, right? (But if 24 taught us anything…)
And with William Hurt joining the cast, can Tom Berenger be far behind?
Tune in on Sunday and find out!
