Newsflash: Canada is a nation of hotties. Oh wait, we knew that already. But the fact was confirmed when Port Perry, Ontario native
Jayde Nicole was named 2008 Playmate of the Year. The title came after the 5'9" brunette first appeared in
Playboy's pages in the January 2007 edition; you've also seen her (though perhaps not quite as much of her) in
Elle and
Modern Bride.
Jayde may be the first Canadian Playmate of the Year in over a quarter century, but Hugh Hefner and his crew have always had their eyes on the beauties of the true north. Pamela Anderson is of course the most famous Canuck Bunny, but there have been
many others. The most notorious might be Kitchener, Ontario's
Izabella St. James, who somewhat tarnished Hef's studly image with her 2006 memoir
Bunny Tales: Behind Closed Doors at the Playboy Mansion. In it, St. James reveals some not-so-sexy details about the orgiastic octogenarian, including
somewhat cringeworthy tidbits about group sessions with the Girlfriends on his famous round bed. Obviously St. James hasn't turned
Playboy off of Canadian girls, or vice versa, as
Jayde Nicole's new title clearly shows.
Here are some shots of the Playmate at Toronto's Ultra Supper Club last weekend, where she showed up to launch "The Girls Next Door," a reality tv show that will give you a closer look into her year on the top of the bunny pile.
