That’s what I would say to the people in
this video if I was their boss: “Get back to work!” And if I was their parents, I would say, “Listen to your boss telling you to get back to work!”
Unfortunately, I am neither their boss nor their parents, but merely a deeply concerned onlooker with an exaggerated sense of repulsion
towards procrastination. The video in question was done by the employees of
Connected Ventures, and has sparked an online revolution known as Office Lip Dubs.
The basic anatomy of the Lip Dub is as office team getting together to film a lip-synched music video in one long take, often involving choreographed dancing. Seems simple, but the effects are far more nefarious than one could imagine.
Websites have sprung up dedicated to this despicable practice, and people have gone so far as
to speculate that such films are actually good for companies, as they make them look like fun places to work. If I wanted to have fun at work, I’d work in a disco-dancing club! Work is called work because it’s hard frigging work!
In any case, you can visit
www.officelipdub.com to see more lazy people pretending to sing songs on the company dime.
Happy Friday!
