Ah, Friday.  The glorious fifth and final day of the work week.  Time to sneak an extra sugar into your coffee (don’t worry, I won’t tell!) and kill some time at the old joberoo by surfing entertaining websites like Showcase’s Sideshow Blog for interesting and engaging content written by top-flight web-scribes like yours truly.  Right?  Right?

Wrong.  In fact, you couldn’t be wronger.

Friday’s still a workday people, and I refuse to be an accomplice to your frittering away of valuable company resources.  I won’t do it.  I will give you something to read, seeing as how you’re already here, but it won’t be fun.  It will be super-serious and educational.  So that when you promptly get back to work after learning from my tellings you will be a smarter and more efficient employee.  I will then send your company a bill.

Lesson #1: History

We all love LOLcats.  That’s a given.  But do you know what happens if you don’t understand your LOLcats?  You’re doomed to repeat them.  To avoid such a confusing and uncomfortable circumstance, I suggest you view this short educational film on the history of the breed.  History ~ It ain’t no mystery!

Lesson #2: Communications

If you’re not currently receiving the Showcase newsletter, you’re what the Brits might call a chav minger (Cultural Studies).  Not only does the newsletter give you the freshest info and a chance to win monthly prizes, but they’ve recently handed the keys to this bad mother over to the Reg man.  It’s like getting my blog posts by email so you can read, laugh, cry, and (most importantly) learn in the privacy of your own inbox.

Lesson #3: Sex Ed

Speaking of the Brits, those wily, snaggle-tooth freaks at the BBC have come up with the least lame HIV awareness campaign ever.  It’s called G.I. Jonny, and includes a viral video that’s more World Police than after-school special, and a kick-ass website.  Good on ya moites!  Throw anotha shwimp on tha bwaaaaa-bie!

Lesson #4: Art

If you saw our TIFF coverage, you already know how I feel about surfing movies.  If you didn’t, I’m not going to tell you.  That will remain a mystery.  I will, however, tell you to watch this trailer for Bunker 77, the upcoming film chronicling the brief and deeply excessive life of surfer Bunker Spreckles.  It looks amazing, like all surfing movies.  And if you’ve been paying close attention, you’ve already solved the mystery!

And now, ladies and germs, it looks like I have to get back to work!  LOL!  ROFL!  MILF!
