-In the fall edition of the “OGMMLJC Centennial,” the quarterly student paper of Our Gracious Mary Mother of the Lord Jesus Christ Collegiate & Vocational Institute, 17-year-old sophomore James Naismith wrote the biggest story of his young life.

After viewing the recent teen blockbuster “The Blair Witch Project” twelve times (a school record), Mr. Naismith, a budding journalism student, learned the film was constructed by a crew of filmmakers and actors to merely appear real.
“I totally believed it,” says Naismith, “I was sucked right in. It was the video guy at Century Home Video, you know in the Brookdale Plaza, out by 40 where the by-pass turns North, who tipped me off. He was kind of sarcastic actually.”
Naismith says he reread several reviews and began to assemble clues as to the movie’s spurious origins.
“Most of the writing I found referred to “The Project” as manufactured. They all used words like made-up or faked, so I pretty much knew I was on to something,” continued Naismith.
“James is very serious about a career in investigative reporting,” adds English instructor Drew Parsons.
