If you like pizza, porn, live in Winnipeg (and enjoy the occasional hot lunch) then you’re in luck! Porno Pizza, the brainchild of Corey Wildeman, opened up three weeks ago to phenomenal success as far as eateries go because of its erotic twist: porn comes with your pizza (extra sauce available if you need it).
“It’s selling due to the gimmick and that gets us in the door, but the pizza (quality) is giving us repeat business too.”
Wildeman worked delivering pizzas at a local eatery in town, and one day he and his co-workers tossed around ideas to spice up deliveries. They’d heard of escort pizza services, even using pizza to sell drugs (e.g. ordering a mushroom pizza gets you shrooms) then bulls eye: include porno pictures underneath the pizza. It took him six months to re-build a kitchen, hire his staff (his main chefs have more than 10 years experience) and choose the porn—images currently range from soft to hard-core porn and are presented so recipients can keep the images, and he’s hoping to eventually tailor the images to niche customers.
So far, more than 70% of his business is women aged 25-35 and within the first day of his site launching last Tuesday he’d received 15,000 hits (11,000 of those coming from Germany alone). The business is delivery-only right now, but he's getting a lot of international attention and even hopes to franchise one day. He’s been interviewed by BBC London and media in Brazil, Sydney, Netherlands and Brisbane (I was the first of three interviews he had yesterday). Want a slice?
