A bunch of my friends are planning a trip to Montreal for Just for Laughs, and I, having previous engagements in the city, am unable to jump on board. So I called my friends and was all like, “Wah, wah. I’m a big baby, I wanna go too but I can’t.” Then they were like “Suck it, idiot. Have fun in the city.” This pained me. But then I heard that Just for Laughs is coming to Toronto at the end of the month, so I was like “Joke’s on you, shitheads, I hope your train explodes.” Revenge is sweet.
As is the lineup of hilarity rolling into the Big Smoke July 27th and 28th for the first ever
Just For Laughs Toronto Festival. On hand will be newly-minted international comedy mega-star
Russell Peters, along with 80 of the world’s top comics and performers. The festival will be based in Dundas Square, with an additional four blocks of action spanning from Dundas to Queen.
Performances run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on both nights and there will be a number of ticketed galas hosted by the likes of
Howie Mandel,
Craig Ferguson and
Lewis Black. You can find info on lineups and tickets
here, and let’s hope this turns into a great new Toronto summer tradition.
Suck on that, Montreal,
Reggie.
