Get out! That's right, it's officially Toronto Pride Week which signals the time of year when Church Street is filled with queens, gardens fill with beer and sailors come to Shore. If you'd like to watch the parade, join the street party or see other activities this week, click here for a list of events from the official website.
Stuck on something to wear? Here are some easy ideas I’ve collected from previous years:
1. The Alberta Cowboys Contingent: Body builder-types with ripped jean shorts, cowboy hats and "Alberta Pride" proudly written across their chests. These guys never let me down, and the outfit is easy to re-create.
2. The Hawaiian Drag Queen: There's nothing like faux pineapple hats, bananas belts and tropical fruit earrings to add some zest to the party. Pick a fruit theme and roll with it.
3. Fly in a Dress: Three guys in fly masks wearing green dresses. Hey, who said your costume has to make sense? By mid-afternoon most pride-goers strip down to shorts and a T-shirt anyway.
4. The Hula Girls: A luscious group of luau girls who wear colourful flower leis as grass skirts. As a fun twist, buy extra necklaces to give away--you'll be laying the village in no time!
You may want to wear something waterproof, it's gonna get wet!
And finally, contests make strange bed fellows. Showcase.ca and slice.ca slip "Between the Sheets" to bring you a steamy summer contest! Enter here for a chance to win one of two adult-themed pleasure-filled prize packs that includes "How to Make Love like a Porn Star", an OhMiBod vibrator, a year-long subscription to TouchYourToes.com courtesy of Uncle D and much more!
P.S. What’s your favourite Pride memory from year’s past?
