Every human in the world: Hey Christopher Bolton, of Rent-A-Goalie fame, what are you up to this summer?  

Christopher Bolton, of Rent-A-Goalie fame:  Who, me?  Not much, really.  Read a few books, maybe get up north for a stretch.  Oh, oh yeah, and BIKE 5,000 KM ACROSS THE USA FROM CALI TO ATLANTIC CITY IN EIGHT FRICKING DAYS.

Now, you’re sitting there thinking: “Has this guy gone completely bat shit crazy?”  The answer, surprisingly, is no.  On June 12th, Bolton and his good friend and cancer survivor Sam Babe are going to get on their bikes and kick some ass across the good old U. S. of A. in the name of Sick Kids Hospital.  Bolton lost his brother to the same type of cancer that Sam survived (acute lymphocytic leukemia), and together they’re looking to raise money and awareness for Sick Kids and its cancer research foundation.

To get an idea of what these guys are about to do, they’ll be biking 24 hours a day (two hour shifts during the day, four hour shifts at night) and covering more than double the distance of the Tour de France in a third the time.  To keep from losing their minds they’re travelling with a sizable entourage and have been assigned ‘Pedal Partners’, kids under the care of Sick Kids that they can talk to throughout to remind themselves why they’re putting themselves through hell.
