I can do an ollie. But that’s it.
Skateboarding has always been my fad. I like it. So mom buys me a
banana board. But then I get laughed at. So I forget about it. And then
Tony Hawk comes around, and I want to get into it again. But I have no money and friends. So I forget about it. Then I get old. And I feel too old to start again. But then I meet a guy as old as me, so I get into it again. And I have money. So I start again with my new skateboard friend. I like it. But then he moves far away. So I forget about it. And now my skateboard is collecting dust at the bottom of my stairs.
But now I have discovered
Human Skateboarding. Sneaux wants you to show off your human skateboarding pictures and videos, and they help start you off with a guideline, a video directed by
PES, and even a little reminder to check out their shoes.
Could this be the resurgence of my skateboarding fantasy? Nope. It’s an entirely new one: The work and art of PES. I’ve always appreciated stop-motion animation and the creativity from his work has fueled it further. Whether it was reminding me of the good old
Atari 2600 days with
Game Over or creating an arousal in my crotch with
Roof Sex or an explosion of candy corn in
Fireworks, every one of his videos brought a smile to face.
Whittlin’ Wood may be my favourite commercial of all time. For the video and the product! Another Fad! He’s been
recognized internationally and he even won the Best First Film award at the
Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2002 for Roof Sex. I don’t believe he’s done a music video but I’m excited to see him give it a go. For a good band though, like
Third Eye Blind. They’re coming back! I like my
fads.
