Christopher Bolton is the star and one of the creators of Showcase Original Series Rent-A-Goalie. In the series, Bolton's character, Cake has a shadowy past that has resulted in his quest to live by a code that will better his life.

The show's opening title sequence gives some hints at what sort of nasty business Cake is trying to atone for. However, it is The State Within, a British terrorist thriller mini-series currently airing on Showcase, that truly reveals just how evil other characters played by Bolton have been, albeit in another series. In The State Within, Bolton plays a mysteriously silent terrorist villain to menacing effect.

If that isn't enough to show that the man has range, well, this week we learned he has been nominated as best male performer for his role as Cake in the 2007 ACTRA Awards. Clearly, the kid's got range.
