Debbie Does HD DVD?

Looks like the score between HD DVD and Blu-Ray may have to be settled in the bedroom.
At the CES this year, industry geeks discussed the next wave of home video hardware. Ultimately, the choice will come down to either Sony's Blu-Ray or HD DVD, backed by Toshiba and a consortium of consumer electronics and PC companies. But with all this high-tech gadgetry, ultimately the decision may depend on what the porn industry chooses as its standard format.
It's widely known that in the 80s VHS was chosen for movie distribution because of Sony's (Betacam's) reluctance to accept porn as an viable option for its format, even though beta was of superior quality. Hollywood followed suit and as the saying goes, the rest is history. And with the adult film industry contributing $12 billion dollars to the U.S. economy in 2006 (traditional movies bring in less than $10 billion annually) the debate translates into mega bucks for the winner.
And it begs the question: Will close-up porn be better than the old school stuff? The NY Times has mixed reviews, even quoting stars like Jesse Jane who are preparing to undergo plastic surgery to fix what little imperfections are visible only to the zoomed-in eye.
Click here for a good look at the pros and cons of the new technology. So much for the tech stuff today, I'm off to watch good ol' Debbie on my friends' master beta tapes.
