It's the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Today, we’ve got the first of a two-part interview (I call them T&As) with the lady behind one of Sideshow’s most memorable international event coverings ever!
Erin Daye, a major starlet in the adult industry, is widely known for her high-profile adult websites, attempting the world gang-bang record in 2007 and her role in HBO’s reality series
Cathouse. The series was filmed at The World Famous
Moonlite BunnyRanch (a legal, licensed brothel) in Carson City, Nevada.
In our first installation, we find out what it’s like behind the scenes of an adult reality series, what her sex specialty is and if she thinks size matters. Check back next week when we get the inside gang-bang scoop on how she prepared for the event, if there were any side effects and whether she’ll attempt the title again.
T&A WITH ERIN DAYE:What was it like being part of a reality TV series and being followed around by cameras everywhere?ED: As with many reality shows, the “reality” part was not quite as “real” as you might think. It's very difficult to find true clients that want their faces shown on TV and broadcast across the country and around the world. Many of the clients were actually staff members or friends of the Ranch.
It's very difficult to work during the filming, because clients are petrified of being filmed. There are cameras, lights and microphones, as well as HBO staff everywhere on the days that they film. HBO usually comes out for two weeks at a time and films for 8-10 hours each day. There is no filming going on at any other time. We have to bring clients in through back doors so they're not seen by the cameras and many times the Ranch is devoid of customers when they know HBO will be there.
We have to be on our toes at all times with the cameras around. No gossiping or talking about home or boyfriends or families, because you never knew when someone with a camera would come up from behind and start taping.
We all recognized that HBO was good advertising, but all the girls and the majority of the staff were thrilled when filming was over and we could all go back to just working like normal.
Are there any candid or funny bedroom stories you can tell us from your experiences at the BunnyRanch?ED: While working at the BunnyRanch I was asked to participate in a scene for
Cathouse. There were three girls asked to perform with one guy and the director didn't want to give us any information about what we were going to do. She said “just go with the flow,” but we told her that we always discussed things with clients beforehand and never “went with the flow.” She persisted and eventually we gave in provided only with the information that we were going to play a game with this customer.
The four of us went into a room equipped with hidden cameras. The guy had several different sized rings, like from a child's ring toss game. That's what he told us we were playing, ring toss, with his penis as the base. We all thought, that shouldn't be too bad. The gentleman was a little Tarzan-esque with his clothes on, but when he took them off he smelled like he had been lost in the jungle for a couple of weeks. His hygiene left a lot to be desired.
He explained that we were to toss the ring and when one landed on his penis, he would get a sexual favor. We (all the girls) put our heads together and whispered quietly to each other, “How are we going to get out of this?” We decided that we would miss on purpose and lament at our horrible aim. That worked for a while, but he insisted that we get closer. My friend Lexi decided to “take one for the team” and landed a shot. She gave him a very quick blow job, while attempting not to turn green. We knew that the show's producer would not let us end the scene without a “finish,” so again we put our heads together and decided that he would get a fantastic three girl hand job as the supreme winner of the game. We worked hard and fast to produce the desired result. We got the finish they needed and all went running from the room to wash our hands and to take a shower.
We all laughed about it later, but it was really a horrible experience.
What's your sex specialty?ED: I am best known for my deep throating abilities and of course for my gang-bang attempt. I have a “flip top” head and little to no gag reflex. This jaw stretching and gag reflex control have taken years to perfect. It's all about relaxing and muscle control. I practice with not only real subjects, but with different size toys. The guys that I shoot with that have penises that are five to six inches long are not near as impressed as the guys that are carrying nine, 10 or 11-inch packages. I have never disappointed during a play date and have often been told it was the most mind-blowing blow job they ever received.
In 2006, you started a dedicated interracial site. What do you find most attractive about black men?ED: When we started
ErinDaye.com, it was not a predominately interracial site. I have never had any preference for one type of man, be it for his race or penis size. I simply enjoy all men for the reason that each is unique and has something special to offer. When we decided to open the ErinDoesBlacks tour, it was really at the request of our members and to take advantage of the current market trends. I am frequently asked “Does size matter?” or “Do you only have sex with black men?” The answer is no on both counts. I don't believe that size matters, only what you do with what you have. Finesse always wins out over size. Race never matters, introduce me to a green man with a great personality and a love for sex and I'm there. Black, white, brown, yellow, green, orange; they're all part of a large box of sexual crayons and I want to colour myself with all of them.
What advice would you give young women looking to get into the adult industry?ED: I would advise young women to do their research before deciding to enter the adult industry. The industry itself is very glamorized and young women often have no idea of the actual work that is involved. So many enter the industry each year - it's a very competitive market. Don't expect to get a big contract from a major studio or make hundreds of thousands of dollars from movies or your own private porn site. The most successful women are strong-minded and focused on business. What I mean by that is put your health and best interests up front and have your own line in the sand, whatever that may be, that you're not willing to cross. Many girls get caught up in the party lifestyle and burn out quickly due to excessive drinking, drug use and parties. No one is going to look after your best interests but you. There will always be people who promise you great things if you are willing to do this or that, but make sure you are truly comfortable with those things and that it is in your best interest, not someone else's.
Also be prepared to exercise, diet, take care of your skin, hair, nails, etc. You are always in the public eye and fair or not, will be judged by your appearance. You will always be compared to someone else, so be prepared to be diligent about your appearance.
You will also want to consider your family, spouse or significant other. What will they think about your decision to enter the adult industry? Will they be supportive or will they be upset? How will you handle their reactions? It's very important to consider all the possibilities ahead of time to make sure you're prepared to deal with whatever comes up. You will be in the industry for a very short time compared to the time you have to live with yourself and your family.
